In a relationship, it is very important to keep the spark alive. If you've beginning to feel that your relationship is dull, or maybe it's just not as exciting as it used to be, then you should do something about it - especially if you're in love with that special someone.

There are several different ways to keep the electricity flowing in your relationship. The best, but by far the least common is to surprise your special someone with a gift just because they are themselves. This is where your creativity shines through and you can be as uncommon or as traditional as you want to be. It can be as expensive or as inexpensive as you want. The important part is that it is a "just because" gift. Traditional gifts tend to include flowers, jewelry, or fashion. If you choose to go with flowers, go with a custom bouquet and do not go cheap. Cheap flowers look horrible. If you have no idea what to pick, discuss the whole thing with your florist. They'll be able to help create the perfect bouquet. Classically, the ideal bouquet is two-dozen red roses.

Jewelry is a real delicate issue if that's the route you want to go. Just like cheap flowers, cheap jewelry looks tacky. Authentic diamonds are recommended. A necklace, earrings and/or a bracelet, all in one theme (such as white gold, yellow gold, platinum, etc.) is definitely the way to go.

For fashion, you might look at an expensive piece, such as a new purse from Coach or Louis Vuitton. It really just depends on your significant other. Keep an eye and ear out the next time you go shopping with your significant other so that you can know what that special someone really desires.

A more creative gift is typically the cheapest. A love letter telling her all of the reasons why she is the best thing that has ever happened to you is a very good way to go. Use your best handwriting on this one and put it in an envelope and leave it somewhere she can find it easily.

If your loved one loves to read, find that favorite book and get a signed copy or a first edition. This is the idea gift for an avid reader and she'll appreciate it.

A poem is a little bit difficult to work on, but even if you're not gifted with words, your feelings for her, real and honest on the page is worth it. Don't try to be a gifted poet - just write your feelings for her. Remember that the constant theme to this is to show how amazing this woman is to you - how thankful and blessed you are to have her in your life. Put her needs before yours and thank her for being a part of your life. She will love you all the more for it. Even if she already knows, it does not hurt to remind her on a regular basis just how special she is to you.
